PARISH PASTORAL COUNCIL
The Parish Pastoral Council is to take its direction from and be governed by the Norms For
Parish Pastoral Councils given by the Bishop of the Diocese of La Crosse. The norms are then
to be adapted to the circumstances of each parish.

The Parish Pastoral Council is a consultative body by which the Christian faithful of the parish,
together with those who have pastoral authority in the parish, give their help in fostering
pastoral activity.

The ways by which it fulfills its shared responsibility are: the spiritual enrichment and growth
of its members; the study of the Christian life of the People of God with special attention to their
Christian vision, needs and hopes; the discernment of the relationship of the pastoral activity
of the parish to the legitimate needs and hope of the parish community; the help in establishing
priorities among the various aspects of the pastoral activity of the parish; and the formation
of policy and the development of programs of pastoral activity.

Family Life Committee
The Family Life Committee is involved in the following areas of parish life: Youth Ministry,
Vocations, Marriage Preparation, Marriage Enhancement, Natural Family Planning, Parish Social Life,
and other related areas.

We try to combine some of these areas, such as youth ministry and parish social life. For example,
the youth of the parish, together with other adult members of the parish, raked leaves far a parish member in
the Fall, and went caroling at a nursing home at Christmas time. It is good community service for the
youth, as well as bringing the old and young of the parish together. We have also had a Summer picnic
at the lake for all parish members to enjoy.

We are also able to provide literature or contact persons for anyone interested in Natural Family
Planning, or entering a religious vocation. If we don't have an answer for you, we can find someone
who does.

Sacred Worship Committee

The Justice and Peace Committee has the responsibility of bringing "Social Awareness" of issues that concern
human dignity and rights of all individuals to our parish. Some of these could be: Jail Ministry, Project Seed,
Project Milk, sending cards to and praying for our sick and dying, education concerning anti-abortion, the
Death Penalty, supporting the medical mission from the Diocese and the children of Casa Hogan, promoting
the Enthronement of the Sacred Heart, etc. These are brought to the parishioners through pamphlets, bulletin
inserts, one on one contact, and small group discussions on an irregular basis. For example: When a bill is being
introduced about abortion or the death penalty, we would have information on it to share and places to write to
give your views to your legislators.

the parish; long-range financial planning; preparation of an annual financial report, and attention
to civil law pertaining to the administration of the temporal goods of the parish.

Budget Committee
The Budget Committee is responsible for setting up an operating budget for the Parish. After
reviewing the actual income and expense items in the current year, the committee makes a determination of
what it expects these items will be in the new fiscal year. Each committee in both the Finance Council
