          DEPUTY SHERIFF - WOOD COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT

 The Wood County Civil Service Commission is establishing a new Eligibility List for the position of Wood County Deputy Sheriff.  You may apply by requesting an application after June 1, 2008

 Successful applicants will be notified of a written test, which will take place on September 13, 2008.  The test will be given by the Wisconsin Personnel Partners.

 

Salary:  Starting Deputy $43,100 annually; after 30 months $50,700

 Participation in group health insurance plan:   County contributes 90% of premium

Sick Leave accumulated up to 150 days

 Uniforms furnished

 Two weeks vacation after one year

 Ten paid holidays

Participation in the Wisconsin Retirement System

 

Qualifications:

 

·         Must be United States Citizen (State Statute 66.11(1))

·         Applicants must be over 18 years of age

·         Must possess high school diploma plus Two-Year Associate Degree from Wisconsin Vocational Education or Technical District or its accredited equivalent from another state; or a minimum of sixty (60) fully-accredited college-level credits

·         Must be in good physical condition

·         Successful applicants must be able to meet minimum physical fitness incentive standards

·         Must take and pass psychological examination

·         Successful applicants are also required to pass drug-screening test

·         Applicants must possess a valid Wisconsin Drivers License and be able to meet any other requirements of the Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board 

UPON EMPLOYMENT WITH THE WOOD COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT, THE NEW DEPUTY MUST SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETE THE FIELD TRAINING AND EVALUATION PROGRAM.
