October 1997
This year the Ojibwa Distric Fall Campout was held at Mondeaux Flowage in the Eastwood Campground. We had thought that we were going to have a weekend of poor weather, but all that was bad about it was the wind. Saturday was a day of competitions ending with a cook-off. After the judging of the dishes, we got to eat from all that were entered.
Camp gadgets are always popular at scout campouts.
This time we created an arial teeter totter.
Two boys grab the ropes tied to the ends of the horizontal beam
mounted high in the tree.
Then when one pulls down, the other jumps and flys high into the air.
Our troop set up this station,
Catch the Snapper, for the afternoon competitions.
Each group had to find some way to get the rat trap that was placed some
distance from the line.
Here is another station where a group of 4 boys had to work together
to "walk" the two beams out and around a stake and back.
